Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Welcome to CutLuma. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of CutLuma (“we”, “us”). They apply whenever you visit the site, create an account, or use the editor, recorder, share links and related features (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. The Service
CutLuma is an online video editor. It lets you record your screen and camera, upload media, edit projects in your browser, generate captions with AI, export videos and share them with a link. Editing and exporting run mostly on your own device; your projects and media files are stored in the cloud so you can come back to them.
2. Your account
- You need an account to use the editor. Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
- You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live (and at least 13 years old). If you use the Service for a company or team, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms on its behalf.
- One person or organisation per account. Don’t create accounts in bulk or by automated means.
3. Your content
You own what you make. Videos, audio, images, projects, captions and anything else you upload or create (“Your Content”) stay yours. We don’t claim ownership of them.
To run the Service we need your permission to store, copy, process and transmit Your Content — for example to save your uploads, generate thumbnails, create captions when you ask for them, and stream a video to people you share it with. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to do those things only for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems.
You are responsible for Your Content. Only upload material you have the right to use, including any music, footage, fonts, logos and recordings of other people.
4. Share links, comments and reactions
- When you create a share link, anyone who has the link can watch that video without an account, and — unless you turn these options off — download it and leave comments or reactions. Share links are not listed publicly by us, but treat a link like a public URL.
- You can turn a link off at any time; it stops working immediately.
- You can delete comments on your own videos. People who comment are responsible for what they write. We may remove comments or disable links that break these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
Please don’t use the Service to:
- upload, create or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, sexually exploits minors, promotes violence or hatred, or harasses or defrauds people;
- record or publish people without the consent the law requires;
- spread malware, phishing or spam, including through share links and comments;
- break, overload, scrape or probe the Service, get around plan limits or rate limits, or access other people’s accounts or files;
- resell the Service or use it to build a competing product without our written permission.
We may remove content, turn off share links, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it is reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
6. Plans, payments and cancellation
- The Service has a free plan and paid plans. Each plan has limits (for example projects, storage, upload size, export resolution and AI caption minutes) shown on the pricing page and in your account. Free exports may include a watermark.
- Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
- You can cancel at any time from the Plan & billing page. Your paid features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for; after that your account moves to the free plan and its limits.
- Except where the law gives you a right to a refund, payments are non-refundable. If something went wrong with a charge, contact us and we’ll do our best to make it right.
- We may change prices or plan limits. We’ll give you reasonable notice before a change affects a subscription you are paying for, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
7. AI features
AI captions are generated by an automatic speech-recognition model run on Cloudflare Workers AI. When you use this feature, the audio of the clip you select is sent for transcription. Automatic transcripts can contain mistakes — please review captions before you publish. AI usage is limited by your plan.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the Service running, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every browser or device. We may add, change or remove features. Keep your own copies of anything important: export finished videos and keep your original files.
9. Ending your account
- You can stop using the Service at any time. To have your account and its content deleted, contact us (see “Contact” below). Deletion removes your projects, uploaded media and share links and cannot be undone.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, creates risk for other users or for us, or has an unpaid subscription.
10. Our rights
The Service itself — the software, design, name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service; they don’t transfer any ownership of it to you.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot legally be limited.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or, if you are on the free plan, a nominal amount). Some countries don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a meaningful change we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
